BARBARA GOODWIN, PRESIDENT 
has over 45 years of Commercial Interior Design experience and served as Lead Interior Designer for a wide variety of private and government projects. Barbara has fostered professional development and educational opportunities for designers. She lobbied for Interior Design Licensure becoming the first Certified Interior Designer in Virginia to receive Virginia Certification. Under Barbara’s direction, Universal Design Associates utilizes an integrated team approach offering clients a service driven attitude, attention to detail and creative solutions to achieve a successful, on-time, on-budget project for the client.

  • Bachelor of Fine Arts, Interior Design from Virginia Commonwealth University
  • Appointed by Governor to serve on first Interior Design board
  • Professional member American Society of Interior Designers
  • Past President Council of Certified Virginia Interior Designers
  • Holds I.S.A. Secret Clearance for Federal Government Projects
